<p><strong>Garry Sobers</strong><strong> </strong>of <strong><em>West Indies</em></strong> in <em><strong>1968</strong></em> was the first batsman ever to hit  six sixes in an over in a <em><strong>first class cricket</strong></em>.He smashed five clean sixes and one six where the ball was caught by <strong>Roger Davis</strong> but carried over the rope.<strong>Sobers</strong> was playing as captain of <em><strong>Nottinghamshire</strong></em> against <em><strong>Glamorgan</strong></em> in <em><strong>Swansea</strong></em>; the unfortunate bowler was <strong>Malcolm Nash.</strong>The previous record of maximum runs in an over was 34 runs and it was taken by <em><strong>Ted Alletson.</strong></em>This record was broken by <strong>Garry Sobers</strong> by a tally of 36 runs by hitting six sixes in the consecutive six deliveries.</li>

<p>In <strong>1984-85 <em>Ravi Shasthri </em></strong>equalled the record by hitting six sixes in an over in the first class cricket.He was playing for <strong><em>Bombay</em></strong> against <strong><em>Baroda</em></strong> in a <em>West zone Ranji Match.</em>He smashed the six sixes in an over of the left-arm spinner <strong>Tilak Raj.</strong></li>

<p><strong>Herschelle Gibbs</strong> from <strong><em>South Africa</em></strong> is the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in a <em>One Day International (ODI)</em> and that too in the <strong><em>2007 cricket World Cup.</em></strong>The unfortunate bowler was <strong>Daan van Bunge</strong> of <em><strong> Netherlands.</strong></em>By hitting six sixes in that match he raised <strong>US$1 million</strong> for the Habitat for Humanity housing projects.It was actually a contest run by tournament sponsor<strong> Johnnie Walker.</strong></li>

<p><strong>Yuvraj Singh</strong> of India is the fourth batsman to hit six sixes in an over.He smashed six sixes on <strong>19 September 2007 </strong>in the<strong> </strong>opening T20 <strong><a href="http://www.cricketupdates.org/an-outlook-about-cricket-world-cups.html" target="_blank">World Cup</a></strong> tournament against England.The bowler who became his victim is <strong>Stuart Broad.</strong>Yuvraj Singh received <strong>Rs.10,000,000 (US$252,716)</strong> in cash from the BCCI because of this excellent performance.He was also awarded a <strong>Porsche 911 </strong>from the BCCI vice president<strong> Lalit Modi. </strong></li>

<p>The American President <em><strong>Barack Obama</strong></em> was in Trinidad for the fifth summit of the Americas and happened to meet the legendary cricketer <em><strong>Brian Lara</strong></em>.They both met at the newly re-named Obama Terrace,Hilton Trinidad, St Ann&#8217;s, on April 26th.</p>
<p>They both had a nice time together and both posed for the shutterbugs.<a href="http://www.cricketupdates.org/brian-lara-the-legendary-cricketer.html" target="_blank"><em><strong>Brian Lara </strong></em></a>gave some batting techniques to Obama which led to some nice moments also for the spectators.</p>
<p>Later,Brian Lara revealed that he met Barack Obama as a result of the invitation from the white house and he also added that it was a great honor for him to meet Obama.<br />

<p>English cricketer <strong>Claire Taylor</strong> became the first woman to be named one of the five wisden cricketers of the year.She became the player of the tournament in the recent women&#8217;s world cup held at Australia.She scored a total of 324 runs at an average of 64 in that tournament.Claire Taylor told to the media that it is a huge honour to get this prestigious award.After the declaration of the award she posed for the photographs at the <a href="http://www.cricketupdates.org/lords-cricket-ground.html" target="_blank">Lord&#8217;s cricket ground</a></p>
<p>England fast bowler James Anderson,captain of Durban,Dale Benkenstein and the South African cricket players Mark Boucher and Neil McKenzie are the other cricketers to receive this award.<br />

<p>Sabina Park borders Blue Mountains and Kingston Harbour to the north and south respectively.The 1st test and the 1st ODI in this ground was played in <strong>1929 </strong>and <strong>1983</strong> respectively.<br />

<p>South African fast bowler <strong>Andre Nel</strong> made a quick retirement from the international cricket on March 25th after an eight year career in the South African team during which he took more than 100 wickets in both ODI and Test cricket.</p>
<p>Andre nel took 123 wickets in <strong>36 tests </strong>for South Africa at an average of 31.86.He told to the media that he is retiring from the international cricket with a heavy heart.He also added that playing for his country was a dream come true.</p>
<p>Andre Nel made his ODI debut against West Indies in the year 2001 and test debut against Zimbabwe four months later.He played his last international matches (both ODI and test) for South Africa against England in the last year.</p>
<p>Andre nel played <strong>79 ODIs</strong> including the 2007 world cup and took 106 wickets at an average of 27.68 with an economy rate of 4.63.He once took 5 wickets in an innings and he took 4 wickets in an innings three times.There are also 381 first class wickets in his credit.</p>
<p>Andre Nel has now signed to play for <strong>Surrey in the English County Season</strong><br />
