The levers in the cricket bowling are the arms.The leverage of about 90 and more degrees of rotation of the arms are needed to generate maximum power to bowl faster.Greater leverage is generated by keeping the front shoulder up through out the loading stage of the bowling action.

Shoib Akhtar of Pakistan and Brett Lee of Australia got a leverage of about 90 degrees and 95 degrees respectively each having a maximum bowling speed of 160kph.Shane Bond of New Zealand has got a bowling leverage of 86 degrees and got a maximum bowling speed of 154.5Kph while Darryl Tuffey has got a leverage of 61 degrees and he bowls with a maximum speed of about 128.5kph.
