England on 22nd June 2009 named 16 member squad for the pre-Ashes camp. They have also announced the team to take on Warwickshire (county cricket team),which is a three-day warm-up match at Edgbaston, which is scheduled to commence on July 1st.

England national selector Geoff Miller said that Pre-Ashes camp is actually made to give the management team that also includes Andy Flower to mingle with the team members, which has a great psychological effect. He also said that this is not the finalized team for the ashes 2009 that still means one who performs well will get a place in the team from outside the 16-member squad.

Michael Vaughan failed to get a place in the squad because of his inconsistency in the county cricket.Andrew Flintoff,Ryan Sidebottom and Adil Rashid had got a place in the pre-ashes squad.
