Cricket lengths of different deliveries

A full toss is a delivery in the game of cricket which describes any delivery that reaches the batsman without being first bounced on the pitch.

It is bowled by both spinners and also fast bowlers, most probably unintentionally.Full Toss is generally considered to be an easy delivery for a batsman to hit.It is probably bowled unintentionally when a bowler tries to bowl a yorker.A full toss, generally is not considered to be a wicket taking delivery but sometimes a full toss will make a batsman to commit mistakes.

Sometimes fast inswinging low full tosses will make batsman difficult to play. This was commonly seen with Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram.Recently it is also seen that Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka has been bowling low full tosses with his unorthodox round arm action.

A full toss that reaches the batsman above waist height from a fast bowler is a no ball under the Laws of Cricket, as is any full toss above shoulder height for a spinner.Such balls are called as beamers and it is an unfair way of playing cricket. It is probably caused by the ball slipping out of the bowler’s hand accidentally at the time of delivery.
