Grip to bowl a Leg-Break
Leg-Spin is a type of bowling in cricket in which a right-arm bowler bowls with a wrist-spin action which causes the cricket ball to spin anti-clockwise at the time of delivery. As far as the Leg-spinner bowler is considered the ball turns from right to left that is the ball spins away from the right-handed batsman and hence the name leg-spin originated. When the same above said action is repeated by a left-handed bowler, it is called as left-arm unorthodox spin or “chinaman” bowling.
You can also bowl Leg-Spin by knowing easy two steps
Step 1
The top joints of the index and middle finger should be across the seam, with the cricket ball resting between a bent third finger and the thumb.
Step 2
While releasing the ball you have to straighten the fingers and most of the work is done by the middle finger turning the ball anti-clockwise.The wrist has got major role in leg-break since the flick of the wrist generates more spin and at that time palm of the hand finishes facing downwards. This is why Leg spin is also called as wrist spin.
In 1970s and 1980s most of the players were concentrated on fast bowling and at that time it was feared that Leg-Spin would become an obsolete cricketing skill.During this time Abdul Qadir of Pakistan was the highest-profile leg spinner in the world and is sometimes credited with “keeping the art alive”.Shane Warne is the another Leg-Spin legend in cricket.
