Every one knows that IPL is more a business than a cricket.IPL game normally takes 3 hours to complete.But now it will take 3 hours and 15 minutes to complete since 7 and 1/2 minutes will spent for each innings which is called as Strategic Break or Commercial break or Tactical time out.
The main and only objective for this break in the IPL cricket is to make money by showing more advertisements by selling this airtime.There is no cricketing value for this break.40 seconds have been spent for advertising after each over and close to one minute if a team loses one wicket.In Spite of all this methods of making money IPL has introduced this strategic break to make more and more money.
Sachin Tendulkar,Shane Warne,Chandrashekhar (former player and selector),Ali Bacher(former South African cricket board president),Tom Moody(Kings XI Punjab coach),Harbhajan Singh,Javagal Srinath,Steve Elworthy (Tournament Director of Twenty20 World-cup) are all against to this commercial break.According to them this break will hamper the momentum of the cricket and the present form of the batsmen.
