The Indian Institute of Management of Ahmedabad (IIM-A) on the basis of their research regarding the pay of the players of Indian Premier League (IPL) published a paper.This paper describes the different categories of the players’ remuneration of both on and off the fields.The research was done on 70 players.
If a player is aged by one year he loses a lump amount of 13.26 lakh rupees ($29,484) and a player can get Rs 2 lakh ($4,658) when the T-20 batting average is increased by 1 run.The number of half centuries in all forms of cricket for batsmen increases the wages by Rs 1.20 lakh and every additional wicket in the case of bowlers add Rs 17000 ($377) to their remuneration in the IPL.An extra stumping will gain the wicket keepers Rs 1.16 lakh ($2,595).
The salary criteria also depends upon the star value,popularity,personal magnetism and also depends upon the business and marketing values.Sachin Tendulakar and Dhoni had got a remuneration of 5 and 6 crores respectively in the 1st IPL which is also based on these given values.
