Yusuf Pathan's joy knows no bounds, Kolkata Knight Riders v Rajasthan Royals, IPL, 10th match, Cape Town, April 23, 2009
Yusuf Pathan became the hero of the IPL Rajasthan Royals by setting up a victory over the Kolkatta Knight Riders via the Super Over which is the first in this IPL 2.The match was actually like a drama when at first IPL Rajasthan lost two quick wickets in the beginning of their innings which again came on track by Graeme Smith and Yusuf Pathan.This momentum of the IPL Rajasthan was again twisted by the unorthodox bowler of the Kolkatta Knight Riders,Ajantha Mendis taking the wickets of Yousuf Pattan and Graeme Smith in one over.But somehow IPL Rajasthan managed to take a team total of 150 runs.
IPL kolkatta in response came with a bang by the caribbean player Chris Gayle who took 41 runs in 33 balls.But Gayle was out in the Shane Warne’s over.Then the Prince of kolkatta Sourav Ganguly got into the middle and he kept the momentum of his team by taking 46 runs in just 30 balls.But Ganguly was got out in the last minute of the game when they want only two runs to win in two balls which completely twisted the match.In the last ball of the innings Ishanth Sharma took one run and the match was finally tied.
But the match was not still over since in twenty20 there is tie breaker called Super Over in which each team will get one over each.In the super over Gayle and McCullum came to the middle and took 15 runs in one over in the Kamran Khan’s over in which Gayle smashed 3 consecutive fours.In response to this yusuf Pathan smashed 2 sixes and 1 four and took an overall score of 18 runs in just 4 deliveries becoming the superstar of the match.
