Sachin Tendulkar is indisputably one of the best consistent player in cricket.Once Don Bradman said that “he reminds of myself”.So there is no doubt he is one of the best international cricket player in the history with most centuries in both ODI as well as test cricket.But Sachin’s contribution to winning matches takes a beating compared to Inzamam-ul- Haq and Ricky Ponting.

Inzamam’s total number of centuries in the test cricket is 25 of which 17 centuries have helped Pakistan to win tests and the winning percentage is 68.When the Australian skipper Ricky Ponting taking into account, from his 38 test centuries, 24 have converted to test match-winning knocks and the percentage amounts to 63.But Sachin Tendulkar scored 42 test centuries of which 16 have helped India in winning tests and the percentage amounts to only 38.

The most important comparison is the number of centuries in the second innings.Out of 6 centuries of Ricky Ponting, 5 have helped Australia in winning tests and the percentage is 83.Inzamam had 4 match-winning centuries out of 6 centuries.That is 66%.But Tendulkar have scored 10 centuries of which only 3 have helped India in winning matches and the percentage amounts only to 30.
As far as aggressiveness is considered Sachin,Inzamam and Ponting is almost similar.It may be India’s load of expectations that agitates his mental toughness or is he unable to manage pressure in the middle.Sachin Tendulkar always enjoyed more, batting in the first innings than in the second innings.
According to Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar was more comfortable when he accumulates more runs.But in cricket when you change your approach you are inviting trouble.And hopefully sachin will devise a new strategy that help him to increase his winning percentage.

why is sachin in the team whenever he scores it creates record for himself and creates a disaster loss for the team .it has been 20 years in world cricket but other then records does he have the ability to play in the pressure situation if droping him from the team helps us to achieve us som big tournaments then why not drop him as in whenever he scores a ton we do loose . he has never been able to finsh for the team as like dhoni, azhar it took 435 matches for sachin tendulkar to be on crease to score winning runs we can say he is a opener but if he is a player of such high caliber the why cant he finish when he hits century india loose and people say all others dint click it just hopeless to say rather then playing for the team for 20 years and blocking a seat for the youngster i would like to play for the country for 5 years but try to achieve big tournament and if i am not able to achieve i would quit

in this topic ” is sachin is a match winner” i read the percentage which is comparatively less than ricky ponting or inzamam . but no one batsman can give be a match winner for this always there is a need of help… we all saw that when sachin is in form or want to give his best no one batsman withstand with him so how can u expect to win … u may say that it is badluck for sachin….but everyone knows it well that who is master blaster sachin ramesh tendulkar and what is he????
hi i m agree tat sachin is the real match winner against any team.. any country bolwer will suffer to bowl against sachin for an instance just think world indian vvs pakistan & tri series in aussies he batted well and 100 and 90 …. as per match he s the real match winner
I feel that Sachin Tendulkar is one of the best batsman till date. Considering the kind of technology used to find the weakness of a player and kind of technical training a bowler gets, I feel Sachin is the best batsman.

Pontings & Inzis winning % not only their contribution but also the result of their team support.but sachin used to handled the pressure single handedly on most of the occassions while comparing to the other twos….If you want, you can blame other indian player who are not supporting sachin while he performs.Its stupidity to compare the great sachin to anybody except richards & bradman.

Today India is playing with all new comers and sachin.But we are loosing the games.
We won the 1983WC and T20WC when sachin was not there.
Single man is responsible for team defeats.
His achievements are for himself and not for the nation and team.
Without him also we can win.History tells this.So what for we are fighting here?
% of winnning the games when he played clearly shows that he is not a match winner at all.
Thats why he took so much time to get popular(20yr) and the youth like Sehwag,Kohli,Raina,Yuvraj and Dhoni took only 2-3 yrs and these guys has emerged as a match winner.
Sachin is playing since 22 yrs in same role.Cant play without opening and cant lead the team.

Surely he is the one, You look to Gayle’s records he scored 18 centuries and windies losed 10(more then 50%) out of those matches, Does it means Gayle is not a match winner or unlucky fellow??? No (accept the truth)he is the only reliable batsman for windies after Lara. The case is much similar to Sachin, whenever he scores brilliantly other team members is all set to relax, under-performed and it went to non-favour results for India, Do you know Ryan Doeschate of Netherland, he played 33 matches and averaged 67 with the strike rate over 90 in batting and took 55 wickets in his 33 matches with a bowling avg of 24 ( A true all rounder ) but unfortunately 90% of his effort went to vain after losses , Is it means he is not good talent? Indian team is highly dependent on sachins form throughout 20 years except a few years bcoz of his injury & recovering period. After Dada’s & wall’s existence sachin relaxed a little as the saids were true match winners for India. But even this legends cant able to find place in playing 11 now a days, it clearly shows about this little & humble mans dedication to Indian cricket as he is still there as a no1 batsman in Indian batting line up. Instead sachin played for India, let’s assume him as a player of Australia or South Africa, definitely all his 100s & 50s comes for winning matches as there is some true talents in their team to contribute with him.
