The Pakistan pace bowler Mohammed Asif who has been accused of intoxication and the Indian Premier League (IPL) drugs tribunal has withdrew its hearing without delivering a verdict.
Asif has been tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone during the opening IPL match in May last year.The Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) straight away prohibited the 26-year-old cricketer from playing all forms of cricket.Mohammed Asif was signed on for another season with the Delhi Daredevils.
The IPL drugs board constituting of former Indian test captain sunil Gavasker,Dr Ravi Bapat and lawyer Shirish Gupte demanded Asif to come before the panel.On behalf of the hearing the panel still doesn’t said any final decision on Asif.If the appeal made by Asif was rejected he will face a 2 year ban from the international cricket.
