PCB facing financial crunch

misbah_ul_haq_gallery__354x400The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing huge financial crunch because of not playing much cricket on their soil.The PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said that they lost about $40m because of the recent cancellation of the India’s tour to Pakistan because of the political reasons due to the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks.

The PCB is heading forward to conduct a series against Australia in Pakistan which they are hoping to make Rs 400 million and Butt said that they haven’t played for a long time against Australia that it will be well welcomed by Pakistan cricket fans.The PCB also said that this tournament will solve all their financial problems.

The tournament will be most probably take place in Dubai in April 2009 because the Australians are reluctant to play in Pakistan due to security reasons.The tournament consists of Five-one day internationals and a Twenty-20.The dates and venue for the series are likely to be declared on February 6.
