In the 41st match in the IPL 2009 between IPL Bangalore and IPL Kolkatta,IPL Bangalore won the toss and they sent IPL Kolkatta to bat first.IPL kolkatta after a series of loses due to bad performance both in batting and bowling gave a superb batting performance in this match with the help of skipper Brendon McCullum and the Australian cricketer David Hussey.

Brendon McCullum took an unbeaten 84* runs from 64 balls including 10 fours and 2 sixes and they made a very good competitive total of 173 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

In response to this IPL Bangalore had a very good start with the help of Jesse Ryder and Jacques Kallis who had built up a first wicket partnership of 58 runs.They lost three quick wickets of Jacques Kallis,Jesse Ryder and Robin Uthappa in the 9th,10th and 11th over respectively.

There was a time that the IPL Bangalore needed more than 11 runs per over which obviously made very difficult for them to win the game but the Kiwi player Ross Taylor completely drifted the game from the hands of the IPL Kolkatta.

Ross Taylor took an unbeaten 81* runs from just 33 deliveries in which he smashed 7 fours and 5 sixes.Mark Boucher was giving him good company on the other end till the end of the game.And IPL Bangalore won the game with 4 more balls to spare.
