Evacuation of Sri Lankan Team from the Gaddafi Stadium At Lahore

Sri Lanka cricket is now facing threat as the Sri Lankan cricketers are attacked by group of terrorists on Tuesday on March 4th.The bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers to the Gaddafi Stadium at Lahore are attacked by the masked terrorists with AK 47,Rocket launchers,grenades etc almost similar to the recent attack in Mumbai.Five Sri Lankan cricketers and the Sri Lankan cricket team’s coach were also injured in the attack.The injured Sri Lankan cricketers were Ajantha Mendis,Sri Lankan Skipper Mahela Jayawardene,Kumar Sangakkara,Thilan Samaraweera,Tharanga Paranavitana and the Sri Lankan Cricket team’s coach Paul Farbrace are also injured.Most of the Sri Lankan Cricketers were wounded due to shrapnel.The attack killed 6 policemen and 2 civilians.

This attack is also a great threat to the Pakistan cricket since as an aftermath to this attack most of the other cricket boards surely be reluctant to play in Pakistan at least for five years which will lead to the financial crisis for PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board).Bollywood Actress Preity Zinta also shaken to hear this bad news said to the media that she is also praying for speedy recovery for Sri Lankan players who were injured.Preity Zinta is the owner of IPL franchisee Kings 11 Punjab which include the Sri Lankan Players Jayawardene and Sangakkara.
