There was a time in the history of international cricket where West Indies was the most dominating cricket team(In 70s and 80s) and that was an era of Vivian Richards who made magic shots with his blade.Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards was born on 7th march 1952 at St.john’s,Antigua in West Indies.Richards is one of the five wisden cricketers of the century. He is considered as the finest batsman of all time and he is also a part time off break bowler.
Richards started his test carrier against India in the year 1974 and played his One-Day international debut against sri Lanka in the world-cup of 1975.He ended his cricketing carrier in the year 1991 when he last played against England both in the test and One-day International at oval and Lord’s respectively.
| Test | One-Day International | |
| Played | 121 | 187 |
| Runs | 8,540(Average-50.23) | 6,721(Average-47.00) |
| Hundreds | 24 | 11 |

The entry of Richards to the middle of the field with his usual style of chewing the gum, sent shivers down the spines of the International bowlers. He played all the cricketing shots with much ease and his Flick and Pull shots are really mind blowing.
