Garry Sobers
Garry Sobers of West Indies in 1968 was the first batsman ever to hit six sixes in an over in a first class cricket.He smashed five clean sixes and one six where the ball was caught by Roger Davis but carried over the rope.Sobers was playing as captain of Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea; the unfortunate bowler was Malcolm Nash.The previous record of maximum runs in an over was 34 runs and it was taken by Ted Alletson.This record was broken by Garry Sobers by a tally of 36 runs by hitting six sixes in the consecutive six deliveries.

Ravi Shasthri
In 1984-85 Ravi Shasthri equalled the record by hitting six sixes in an over in the first class cricket.He was playing for Bombay against Baroda in a West zone Ranji Match.He smashed the six sixes in an over of the left-arm spinner Tilak Raj.

Herschelle Gibbs
Herschelle Gibbs from South Africa is the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in a One Day International (ODI) and that too in the 2007 cricket World Cup.The unfortunate bowler was Daan van Bunge of Netherlands.By hitting six sixes in that match he raised US$1 million for the Habitat for Humanity housing projects.It was actually a contest run by tournament sponsor Johnnie Walker.

Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh of India is the fourth batsman to hit six sixes in an over.He smashed six sixes on 19 September 2007 in the opening T20 World Cup tournament against England.The bowler who became his victim is Stuart Broad.Yuvraj Singh received Rs.10,000,000 (US$252,716) in cash from the BCCI because of this excellent performance.He was also awarded a Porsche 911 from the BCCI vice president Lalit Modi.
