steve Bucknor WallpaperThe Umpire Steve Bucknor (Full Name:Stephen Anthony Bucknor) declared that he would be retiring this coming March.

He told that the third test between South Africa and Australia in Cape Town from March 19 to 23 and the two ODIs between West Indies and England in Barbados on March 27 and 29 will be his last test and ODI respectively.

Steve Bucknor was born in Jamaica on 31st May 1946.He started his carrier as a Mathematics teacher in a High School and a Sports Coach.Later he became a football referee and more renowned as a Cricket Umpire.In October 2007 he was awarded the commander class which is the order of Jamaica for Outstanding Services in the field of Sports.

He started his umpiring carrier in the year 1989.His first test match was at Sabina park,Kingston,Jamaica between April 28 and May 3rd in 1989 and his first ODI between West Indies and India at Antigua on March 18th 1989.He holds the record of Umpiring 126 tests.He umpired 179 ODIs including including five consecutive World Cup finals since 1992 which is a world Record.
