The IPL Punjab are just near the door of the IPL semifinals due to their thrilling victory over IPL Hyderabad.IPL Hyderabad won the toss and they elected to field first and they actually became successful in that by taking early three wickets of Sunny Sohal,Luke Pomersbach and Simon Katich.
IPL Punjab was struggling to build up a partnership all through their innings and their best partnership was 51(44) runs between Mota and Sangakkara.Kumar Sangakkara is the top scorer of his team who took 56 runs from 43 deliveries with 4 fours and 1 six.IPL Punjab managed to take 133 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
In response to this IPL Hyderabad had a very good start with the help of skipper Adam Gilchrist and Herschelle Gibbs.But then Romesh Powar took back to back wickets of Adam Gilchrist and Thirumalasetti Suman which was the turning point of the game for the IPL Punjab.
The skipper Yuvraj Singh was outstanding with his ball who took his 2nd Hat-trick in the IPL.He took the much needed wickets of Andrew Symonds,Herschelle Gibbs and Venugopal Rao.Irfan Pathan took the important wickets of Rohith Sharma (42 runs from 26 balls) and R P Singh in the last over of the innings.IPL Hyderabad needed 4 runs from the last delivery from which they took only 2 runs making them loss by only 1 run.
